Home Winemaker Showcase Coming May 29

grapestompers will be hosting its 3rd Annual Home Winemaker Showcase on Sunday, May 29, 2011 in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Owner Tom Burgiss says that this event is open to all amateur wine makers. ALL wine makers must pre-register before Friday May 20th in order to pour their wines and be judged for the competition. The public is cordially invited to attend and taste the fruits of the vines. You must purchase a souvenier wine glass for $5.00. If you don't want to keep the glass we will refund your $5.00 at the end of the festival. The event begins at noon and lasts until 4:00 p.m.

Judging of homemade wine will take place in the following five categories:

• Dry red
• Dry white
• Fruit / sweet
• Port
• Mead

In addition to the sampling of the home brewers, there will be area craftsmen and artisans selling their wares as well as live music to enhance the whole afternoon. Ribbons and grapestompers.com gift certificates will be given in each of the five categories mentioned above for the wine makers.
